Popple came to us as an egg. One we did not expect to hatch, but it did. Soon after hatching we noticed that Popple had several birth defects. He had numerous ruptured air sacs, and a severely deformed leg. Despite all of this he was friendly and happy. He was a fighter. After his general health stabilized, It was decided we would have his leg surgically corrected. Our hope was to give him the best shot at life. The surgery was a success and Popple now lives with several other rescued pigeons in a small local sanctuary.
